Before I was a designer, I was an artist.
I started my journey with art as a painter, instructed under the eye of my talented Grandma Donna Peterson, but eventually evolved away from art to focus on academic pursuits. In the years since graduating college, I've tapped back into my artistic side to make my heart (and hands) sing.
I am enchanted by the chiaroscuro style of art - characterized by dramatic contrast, the blackest of blacks and the whitest of whites - which is typically seen in color as a part of dramatic renaissance paintings. I've applied it to my preferred medium of graphite and charcoal.
